Jason Grace is awesome. His character is…how do I put this?…quietly epic. He might’ve not had a piece of wit for everything he did, but he’s not Percy. Not. Percy. I think readers have a hard time accepting that. He’s not there to replace him and he’s not there to be better than him, he’s an entirely different character with similar attributes that cause him to compliment Percy. Jason and Percy’s coexistence is so great. When people isolate Jason and degrade his character, I feel like they’re totally missing the point of him. He’s such a brilliant piece of the new story.
